CPIO RAC Banaras Hindu University: Either Confused or Confusing
Info seeker, Mahendra Pratap Singh, on 10.02.2011 asked BHU under RTI Act 2005 “What are the initiative’s drawn by the Banaras Hindu University for the full-fill the backlog of Teaching & Non Teaching Staff” CPIO replied on 12.03.2011 by Letter No. AA/VI-RAC/694 that “All the reserved vacant teaching and non-teaching posts for SC/ST/ and OBC have been advertised and recruitment process are goning on to fill the same”. Again info seeker filled RTI on 29.11.2011 asking Year, Department and Category wise no. of the post, that have been advertised under the Special Recruitment Drive for filling up the backlog reserved vacancies for SCs, STs and OBCs of Teaching post in the year 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 in Banaras Hindu Unversity” …..to this CPIO replied by letter no. AA/VI-RAC/219 dated 29.12.2011 that “….no special recruitment for SCs, STs and OBCs of the Teaching posts has been advertised…”.
Now it is very much clear that CPIO RAC has violated the Section 7(1) of RTI Act 2005.

National SC Commission strict on Project Vijay’s complaint regarding the harassment of SC people in BHU Varanasi
Mahendra Pratap Singh, Secretary PROJECT VIJAY sought information under RTI Act 2005, regarding the harassment of SC employees/student in Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and found that condition of SC/ST Employees and students is very pitiable and when he inquired about it from the victims, he found that the BHU officials[the accused] are never punished or any disciplinary action is against them at any level, instead the victims are harrassed and suppressed.
Mahendra filed the same complaint to the Hon’ble Chairman, National Commission fro Scheduled Castes and it has asked the Vice Chancellor of BHU to provide information regarding the delay done/disposal in the cases of attrocities/discrimination with the SC people, within thirty days of the received letter vide letter no. 16/113/U.P./2011/E.S.D.W. or the VC BHU can be summoned under Article 338 of the Indian Constitution by the Commission for the same.
